Aunt Bev's Three Layer Fudge cake

1 cup butter

2 cups sugar

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1 tbs lemon juice

2 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup cocoa

1/4 tsp salt

2.5 cups sifted cake flour

2 tsp baking soda

1 cup boiling water

Place butter, sugar, eggs, milk, lemon juice & vanilla in bowl. Stir well

Sift together cocoa, salt, flour & baking soda

Add to first mixture and beat thoroughly

Add the boiling water and mix until smooth

Bake in 3 well greased 8 inch layer cake pans in a 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes

Cool on wire racks before removing from pan

Frost as desired but I highly recommend this with Mom's Mocha frosting
