Carolina Red Sauce

2 tbsp brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon kosher or sea salt

4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup water (if desired)

1/2 cup cider vinegar

1/4 cup white vinegar

1 tbsp paprika

2 teaspoons dry mustard

1 cup ketchup

2 tbsp garlic powder

Combine all ingredients in a stainless steel pot and bring to a boil, then simmer, about 15 minutes. 

Turn off the heat and let stand, about 30 minutes. 

Refrigerate about 12 hours before using

Sauce can be refrigerated up to 2 weeks.
