Hard or soft boiled eggs

8 eggs

Fill a  pot ( a 6 quart pan) with 1 inch of water.

Place steamer basket inside.

Cover pot and bring to a boil.

Add eggs to steamer basket and cover.

Cook for 12 minutes. (Note: For soft-boiled eggs, stop cooking after 6½ minutes).

Drain the pan and cool the eggs in an ice bath or under cold running water.
